How to Capture Video Using NTFS and FAT32 Hard Disks on Windows and Macintosh
- A Macintosh can read and write FAT32 format hard drives. It can
only read NTFS hard drives. Therefore, if you want to capture data
using a Mac on to a USB hard drive, you will need to format the hard
drive in FAT32 format.
- A Windows PC can read and write both FAT32 and NTFS hard drives.
However, Windows XP has an upper file size limit of 4 GB per file on
FAT32 drives. Therefore, if you want to capture a long file on a
Windows XP PC, make sure to format the hard drive in NTFS format.
